I was kind of curious what made you become frugal? In my case it was my mother. She was always a very frugal shopper and wanted everything for us but didn't of course want to pay full price for it. I have to say I'm the same way which drives my father and my brother crazy! lol I will explain one instance of why.
When I was still in school my father decided that he was going to take us back to school shopping. So he said we had so much to spend for clothes and I can't remember now how much it was. However, I hit every store and looked for every deal I could find while my dad and brother helped carry my bags. lol My brother's shopping was done and I was still going strong with shopping, my dad and brother kept saying " Can we go home yet? " I would tell them just how much I had left to spend. lol We closed the mall that day and I have to say that Dad didn't do back to school shopping again. lol He said I did very well with spending my money but I could have maybe done it a little quicker for him. lol
What helps you stay on track with being frugal?
Is it the freebies that come in the mail? Is it the receipt from the stores? Is it your family? What motivates you?
For me its all of the above that motivate me to stay frugal. My husband says I'm the Queen of frugal. That he loves how we save money because of all my efforts. I'm now passing this knowledge onto my daughter's.
