I have been meaning to write about this for a while now to answer the questions about how to organize your coupons. There are many ways you can organize them and many different types of organizers as well that can help you to do this.
I personally like having a binder that has pages for baseball card collecting for my coupons (Photo pages can be used as well for this). I use the baseball card pages as you can get 30 pages for $6.99 at Hobby Lobby. You can also order either on ebay for less as well.
I have a 1 1/2" binder that holds all of my coupons, I have doubles of many of them so I just stick them all together and slide them in the holder so that when I go to purchase something they are all together I can just grab as many as I need and go to the next item. The pages are also easy to see through so you can see many coupons at one time. I have dividers with tabs to show me what type of coupons are in each section. So I can easily go to that section and find the coupon that I'm looking for. I also got pockets in the inside of my binder on both sides. So that I can put the store ads there, my Reg. rewards, and things I need to get to quickly there. So I have 2 long pockets in the front and 2 in the back as well.
I have my sections set up as follows: (not in exact order)
* Freezer
* Pantry- Hamburger helper,mashed potatoes, spaghetti sauce,pasta,cereal and so on
* Fridge- yogurt, juices, sour cream, and etc.
* personal care- meds, hair care,deodorant, and etc.
* Condiments
* Meat
* Cleaning- trash bags, cleaning products, and so on
* Snacks- pudding, chips,cookies, candy, and etc.
* Baking- Cake mix,brownie mix,and so on
I have the dividers in the order that our stores go in. So that as I hit the aisle I can turn to the section and pick them up. This helps me to get in and out of the store and get all the best deals. It also helps me to save money because I'm not looking at all the other products and picking up things that are more expensive. My dividers also have pockets on them as well. So I can match up the coupons for the weeks and place them in the pocket to make my shopping even easier. There are many ways that you can increase your savings and make your shopping easier. You could put store names on the pockets of the dividers so that when your ready to do your shopping in that store and your coupons are all together, then see what other deals you can find to use your other coupons on.
You can do your dividers in any way that you would like and that would make it easier for you to find your coupons. You do not have to have it the way that I do. Find what works best for you and go with it. :) The main idea is to be able to find your coupons that you need and not have to search through a envelope to find them as it will take a large amount of time to go shopping this way. You can also miss out on some deals doing it this way as well.
