We had quite the experience tonight. So I had to share this with you all. We decided that since we had a lot to do for tomorrow that we would pick up something for dinner for the family. The spot! (Its a GREAT burger joint) So all excited since we hadn't had it in a long time. They make their own homemade Rootbeer there as well. (Yes, I'm getting to what happened).

So I order our food and we get it home and I have one of the kids with to help carry everything in with me.( I carried the rootbeer in) So we get in the house and all the sudden I hear a POP! Then liquid spraying all over the couch, walls, and a few other things as well. So I gave it to my daughter to run to the sink to let it get out of the living room. So I am looking around and I have to say I'm NOT a happy camper. So I start to clean up the mess and give the kids their food so they can eat. Then go back to cleaning up more of it. Then looked at the walls which are paintable wallpaper. Thinking oh, this is NOT going to be good. So I left that for a moment and went to the phone.

I called up the business and said (nicely) I was just there I purchased and I gave him our order. He said yes, I remember that order. Great, so we got home I set the Rootbeer down and the bottle split at the seam and sprayed all over my living room. So I explained to him where it split and explained I would be more then happy to bring it there if he would like to see it for himself. He said no that would not be necessary at all. So I asked what the rootbeer had in it to know how to best clean it so he told me, so we figured out what would work best. He asked if I thought I could get it cleaned or if I needed to get a professional in to do it. I told him no, that wouldn't be necessary we would get it handled. He said if I find something that I can't get cleaned to let them know and they would pay to have it taken care of. Very nice of them I thought but assured him that I didn't think that would be needed. That I just needed to know how best to clean it off so that nothing got ruined.

He apologized several times and was just wonderful about the whole situation. Then he asked for our address as he was going to send us a $50 gift certificate for all our troubles and asked me if I thought that was fair. I told him I thought that it was really more then fair but he insisted on the $50 so I gave him our address and it will be mailed out tomorrow he said. I thanked him for all his help with the cleaning suggestions and for him being so kind and for the gift certificate as well.

We did get everything cleaned, so no real damage, just a little bit of a pain to clean up. However, I wanted to share this with you because of the simple reason that when things like this happen, its easy to get upset and go a little over board. Just keep in mind the next time something like this happens that when your nice and understanding you get a little further with the person on the other end of the line and they are more apt to help you fix the problem. :)
