Warning: ZAPZYT product

I have been seeing more and more coupons out for this product so I think that its time that I put out a warning on this product as I would HATE for anyone to have the same problem that we did with it. Well, I should say that my 3 year old son had with it.


I was unaware that my daughter's grandmother was being nice and bought her a new cream for acne. They hadn't said anything about it so I was unaware that it was in our home. (I usually like to know ANY medical products that our children are using for safety reasons.)

So our daughter was using it for about a month, and had left it out where my son could get at it. Well, he put a small amount on his face, a small amount on his lips and I found him just as he was putting it on. I took him to the bathroom and quickly wiped it off and washed his face. It was already to late. The few steps from our daughter's room to the bathroom he already was getting HUGE blisters. The blister's then traveled to his tongue and his tongue got huge blisters.

I took him and the tube of Zapzyt cream to the ER for him to be looked at and he was almost hospitalized right then and there. This product contains medications that are VERY fatal to children and Adults as well!!!! The Dr. in the ER was furious that our daughter was using the product at all. They gave him a medication that was codeine and Malox combination and it took a week and a half before he could eat solids again! This product is very dangerous and unfortunately the FDA has allowed it to be on the shelf so all I can do is warn you to not use it so that you or another child will not have to go through this horrible pain. If you have this product in your home please dispose of it properly and purchase something without the same ingredients in it.
