I normally wouldn't post this type of event on my blog or groups but with so many different people being affected by cancer I thought I would post about it today.
On May 1st, my son Devin who has a brain tumor will be shaving off ALL my hair. Yes, I will be going bald and beautiful to raise money for Cancer research. I have to say that my son is very excited to be the one who is going to get to shave all of my hair off which will be NO easy task for him since I have very long and thick hair. However, this is the first time that he has been happy its not him its going to happen to and feels more in control of his feelings, what his treatments will be, and feels completely supported. So this is going to be a great Event.
We just got released from another hospital stay yesterday. Hence the reason I was having some problems posting. The hospital internet sometimes leaves a little to be desired but I'm home on my PC now so things can go back to posting like normal. YAY!
So we are raising funds for the St. Baldrick event that we are doing where Devin will shave my head. We just found out about the event from Devin's oncology Dr. while we were in the hospital so I signed up to have my head shaved. If you would like to help find a cure for cancer and help pediatric and adult cancer cures we could use your help. : ) The donating starts at $1 and the money goes straight to St. Baldrick's (not to me). We will be taking before and after pictures of the event and I hope to do a youtube video as well of Devin shaving my hair off so those who would like to see it can.
